Speaker: Suzanne Williams
What organization do you work for and what is its mission?
Suzanne Williams: The organization I work for is the town of Many, and like any small rural town in the state of Louisiana, our mission is to provide as many services as possible to our residents at the least amount of cost. Therefore, grants are important.
Why are you participating in the Grant Expo?
Suzanne Williams: I was asked by Mayor Rick Allen last summer if I could come to Leesville and teach some of his staff how to write grants. And from that request came working with LAFA .
What two tips would you give anyone seeking a grant?
Suzanne Williams: The two most important tips that I would give to anyone, um wanting to write a grant, to seek how to write a grant is number one, know what project you're seeking funding for, and number two think outside the box and think about who pays for those kinds of things.
Who should attend the Expo?
Suzanne Williams: Anybody interested in how to find, write for and collect grant money, which is so important to small nonprofits, small towns, big towns, states, states do it from the federal government. If you want to learn how and where to find money to support projects that you have, doesn't matter what sector you're in, you need to attend this expo.
