Speaker: Andrew LoManto, Attorney

Describe the two main challenges you dealt with before working with Nader Zadi?

Andrew LoManto: I want to share with you two significant challenges I faced before collaborating with Dr. Nader Zadi. In growing my real estate law practice. These challenges revolve around boundary setting, both in terms of personal and office dynamics and delegating tasks, particularly in the context of business development. The first challenge: boundary setting, within the office was a crucial aspect of my professional life. As a real estate attorney, I was always swamped with work contract negotiating, client meetings, closings and I was often tempted to take on more than I should. This not only led to a chaotic office environment, it also affected my ability to focus on the critical aspects of my practice. Office boundaries were blurred, people were overworked and it was clear that I needed to establish a more organized and efficient work environment. Uh But making those changes within the office, restructuring processes and roles, while maintaining the team morale was definitely easier said than done. Uh The second challenge: delegating tasks, was equally significant. Um I had a growing law practice and as much as I'd like to think I could handle everything on my own, it was simply impossible! So I, I thought um and delegating tests within the office involved, not just managing the work, but also navigating the dynamics of a close knit team. Um And it was challenging to ensure everyone had a clearly defined role and responsibilities. Um delegating tasks, particularly in a field that specialized as real estate law was a pretty complex puzzle. Um And I learned how to entrust my team and maintain uh a harmonious work atmosphere while expanding and improving my business uh all at the same time. Um And, and that's where Dr. Nader Zadi came in and his expertise in business development and mentorship helped me address these challenges head on both in terms of redefining office boundaries, and delegating tasks effectively. And, and with his guidance, uh I could create a more structured and efficient workspace, empowering my team to really work at their best.

What was your goal when you started?

Andrew LoManto: I wanna share with you a bit of my journey. And my goal when I first started working with Dr. Nader Zadi, you see life is full of unforeseen challenges and I believe it's how we prepare for them that truly defines our success. When I first embarked on this journey, I had three primary aspects of my life. I wanted to be ready for my law practice, my marriage to my wife, and starting a family. When I decided to establish my law practice, I knew that real estate law was my passion, but I also recognized the immense responsibility. It carried my main goal um was to ensure that I had the knowledge and skills to navigate the complex world of running my own business. Dr. Nader Zadi came into my life as a mentor guide and a source of invaluable knowledge. He helped me understand the intricacies of business development, and his guidance was crucial in laying a strong foundation for my practice. You see, marriage and starting a family are such an incredible journey on their own, and of course, such joy and and also have their own set of challenges. Um as I embarked on this journey with my wonderful wife um in marriage and quickly starting a family, I knew I wanted to provide uh a secure and stable future, while prioritizing them with my newly formed business. Um As I work a lot of hours, this was one area I knew I wanted to be ready for so I could properly balance my time with my wife, my child, and work. Dr. Nader Zadi, his guidance in navigating uh the needs of my family and the needs of my practice, played a critical role in achieving this goal of creating work and personal life balance. Um And I wanted to be a responsible and supporting husband um and father to my family, and working with Dr. Zadi allowed me to do just that. In essence, my goal, my main goal, when starting working with Dr. Nader Zadi was to be ready for the un forcing challenges uh that life might throw my way. I wanted to excel in my law practice, build a strong and loving marriage with my wife, and provide that secure and prosperous future for my family. Dr. Zadi's guidance was instrumental in achieving these goals. And for that, I am grateful.

What did you walk away with, and how did it impact you?

Andrew LoManto: I want to reflect on the invaluable lessons I've learned from my mentor, Dr. Nader Zadi. The journey has been transformative and I'd like to share my main takeaways and how they've impacted my personal and professional life. The first and most profound takeaway from my work with Dr. Zadi is the ability to confront challenges head on. And now life is unpredictable. And in the world of real estate law, every deal could be a roller coaster ride. Dr. Zadi taught me that it's not about avoiding challenges, but facing them with courage and resilience. Um Now we can't control everything but we can control that response. That mindset has been a game changer for me. Um And I've learned to adapt when things don't go as planned and to see challenges as opportunities for growth. Um One of the tools I've learned along the way is the importance of setting boundaries. Um And as a real estate attorney, it's easy to become overwhelmed by the demands of the job. And Dr. Zadi taught me that by setting clear boundaries, I can maintain a healthy work life balance and avoid any kind of burnout. Um And it's not just about working hard, but it is about working uh smart. Um and delegation is another critical tool that I've learned. Um I used to be deeply involved in the administrative tasks. But Dr. Zadi encouraged me to delegate effectively to my staff. And by entrusting my team with these responsibilities, I've been able to focus on the big picture items like strategic planning, client relationships, growth, uh opportunities. It's been an absolute game changer for my practice as well. Um And holding my staff accountable is a cornerstone of our success. And Dr. Zadi emphasized that accountability. It is not about blame but about growth by setting clear expectations and providing constructive feedback. I've seen my team absolutely flourish with this. Lastly, Dr. Zadi taught me the invaluable skill of turning the mistakes into teaching lessons, you know, in this profession, we're bound to encounter setbacks or errors. Um And instead of dwelling on them, I've learned to see them as opportunities to learn and improve, but also to act quick on them and, and not to let too much time pass before addressing them. Um Every mistake becomes a stepping stone towards becoming a better attorney and eventually a better person.
