Thomas Gripp: I'm Thomas Griff. I'm Battalion Chief with the Kansas City, Kansas Fire Department. I hold the position of, Chief, Battalion Chief for professional development in the training division. I received the James G Yvorra scholarship for Fire and EMS leaders. My goals have changed over the years. Originally, way back, I was a history major and as I moved up to the ranks, I determined that I had a lot more to offer as a leader in the fire service. And so I'm working on a degree in strategic leadership so that I can bring that up and eventually I want to teach across the spectrum on building leaders from the ground up in the fire service.
