Speaker: Susie Duncan, Talent Manager, YRH Finance Team
What is portfolio working?
Susie Duncan: what portfolio working means. Portfolio working is supporting clients, SME companies with their finance function, so you would have various clients that you would visit, which would then build up your portfolio.
What are the benefits of working on a portfolio basis?
Susie Duncan: The main reason people come to us looking to work portfolio is the flexibility that it can offer. We have quite a few people who maybe are studying towards their ACCA, or their AAT qualification and are looking for more of a flexible work life balance so that they can fit in their studies, or people may be just looking for more work life balance in general.
What experience do I need to work on a portfolio basis as a Financial Controller or Finance Manager?
Susie Duncan: You don't need any experience to come and work portfolio If you haven't had any portfolio experience before, we look for people who are AAT qualified or ACCA qualified. We also like experience in at least two of the three systems for example, Sage and Xero or Xero and QuickBooks. We also look for people who have got sort of a good general industry knowledge experience who have maybe run payroll, had experiences with credit control. Maybe work with SME companies before.
