Speaker: Michael Nasti, Lieutenant, Prince Georges County Fire/EMS Department
Michael Nasti: My name is Mike Nasti and I am a lieutenant with the Prince George County Fire EMS Department. I'm married with a kid and I'm originally born in Tucson, Arizona and I moved to New Jersey where I lived there until I moved to Maryland. when I was a teenager.
Michael Nasti: The Yvorra Leadership Development Foundation scholarship will help me develop my leadership skills by assisting me in obtaining a bachelor's degree. And I think through formal education, it will help me sharpen my abilities to critically think communicate in writing and communicate verbally as well.
Michael Nasti: My definition of leadership is the ability to motivate and inspire others to accomplish a common goal. To lead, by example, by showing those skills myself. And then through my actions, inspire others to be part of the team and to bring their own unique experiences and strengths to accomplish whatever our goal is, no matter how big or how small.
Michael Nasti: In completing the application package for the Yvorra Leadership Foundation Scholarship. I found it to be very easy. It's very straightforward. It's very well written. And you know, they're always reachable by phone or email to help you should you have any questions. But it's a very simple process. It was very easy and I enjoyed it.
