Speaker: Tina Owens
What fall events or activities do you host for parents to get involved in their child's learning (e.g., costume parades)?
Tina Owens: We offer a few different activities um, that vary from year to year. But the two that we really stick with is um, our trunk or treat where we have families and their Children to come out. And the truck can also allow their Children to have them safe trick or treating. And we have both sell drinks. So another event we do is and clustering to home setting connection where we send things like family decorating a turkey feather or family decorating an acorn. And they get to from a younger guy back to school and we um ended up in the classroom to represent.
How do you communicate with parents about seasonal changes, such as weather-appropriate clothing or new fall programming?
Tina Owens: We communicate with our families through our quarterly newsletter, our emails, our communication app through Facebook through type notes and in person since we're at the school daily.
What strategies do you use to ensure that all families feel included and valued in fall activities?
Tina Owens: Our main strategy for communicating with our families is just with global communication. Um When the parents come in and out the building, we make it a point to talk to them each day and we remind them that there's upcoming events and what's going to happen at those events and that we would like to see them at the event. We make it a point to talk to each of our family before the event during the event. And in the, we also do a thanking everyone for attending. And we also send and share information on our app on our Facebook, on our emails um to make sure that each family is invited and Children with all ages and we would love to see them attend.
