Speaker: Alejandra Gardner
What fall-themed activities do you incorporate into your curriculum to engage children (e.g., pumpkin carving, leaf crafts, story books)?
Alejandra Gardner: Good morning. My name is Alejandra and I am the senior director for House Angels. Just kind of wanted to share exactly what we're doing for the fall and all the fun activities. Next week we're doing um a fall break in school. So to so to stay instead of closing, obviously, the whole week, we are just doing a bunch of fun stuff and not so much curriculum. Um So I know we're doing like pumpkin carving, pumpkin volcanoes. Um We're doing sensory spaghetti for the kids. That's orange right now. Hey, good morning. And uh we are also doing a Halloween party on Friday Pajama Day, Movie Day. So that's kind of how we're incorporating all the fun fall stuff. Hopefully, the kiddos will have fun with it.
How do you tie seasonal changes, like autumn leaves or harvest, into learning opportunities for children?
Alejandra Gardner: So as far as tying and seasonal changes, we um like I said in the previous video, next week, we're going to have um dye some spaghetti noodles, orange, put some pumpkins in it, put some uh leaves in it, fake leaves, let the little babies play with it. Um And then um the other kids, we do nature walks, the older kids and stuff like that.
How do you encourage children to express their creativity and personal experiences during fall-themed activities?
Alejandra Gardner: As far as encouraging Children to express their creativity. Um We are actually doing a thing or a project called Help The Ghost. And it's kind of like help uh disguise the turkey except with the ghost. So we had all our older classes do that, so they're able to um decorate their ghost however they want.
