Speaker: Gloria Campos
What prompted you to become a WomenHeart Champion?
Gloria Campos: As a 34 year old heart attack and cardiac arrest survivor. I felt lonely on my journey to recovery, but I found refuge in my local women heart community. It was only fitting then that I would apply to become a woman heart champion. And it has made me part of something much bigger than myself.
What have you learned during your time at the Symposium?
Gloria Campos: Heart disease is the number one killer of women, more than all cancers combined. It affects women of all shapes, colors and sizes. The symposium has really helped me better understand my heart disease as well as other conditions that affect the heart. It has empowered me to support, educate and advocate in order to save lives.
What have you enjoyed most about this experience?
Gloria Campos: Hearing all of the empowering survivor stories was a transformative experience. Seeing how many beautiful, strong and loving women want to make a difference and help others in their community has lifted my spirit beyond measure.
What would you say to women who are considering becoming a WomenHeart Champion?

At the end of this experience, you will better understand heart disease, the power of your story and how to help your community. What else could you ask for?
