Speaker: Sal Margetts

Sal Margetts: speakers, but also just the input from the rest of the group in the class and ongoing support group. It brought wealth, they brought wealth of knowledge and their shared lived experience.

What made you choose this menopause coaching diploma instead of other options?

Sal Margetts: Um, well, I've been looking at various online menopause coach training programmes such as the sort of off the shelf kind of, um, programme, thinking it might just add to my skills as a counsellor. Um, but personally I wanted to have a live tour environment with a real group of, you know, other students and a teacher because I knew that I personally would commit to that much better than just self study, reading, watching videos with no interaction or, or real accountability for my learning. Um, and I wanted the experience of going through the actual coaching myself, so as well as the supervised support through the requirements of practise clients, I wanted to experience what going through the menopause plan would mean for me as well, so I would be able to understand that better for my actual coaching skills. Um, just when I looked into women of a certain stage, um, I just felt that the evidence-based theory, the research, the expert trainers, medical from medical and coaching backgrounds, and that Lauren herself would bring what I needed for the training.

What specific challenge or uncertainty did you have before enrolling, and how has the training resolved that?

Sal Margetts: I remember telling Lauren when I first spoke with her that I wasn't sure if I should train as a menopause coach or if I just personally needed a menopause coach, because at that time I was actually really struggling with my own symptoms and um she reassured me that I would go through the menopause plan myself during the training and that she had absolute confidence that I would also gain what I needed to become an effective coach for others. I did have real imposter syndrome. Um, and as the training went on and we began the coaching practise, it really resolved the confidence issues that I had because as well as feeling really supported to deliver the coaching, I was also implementing the elements of the menopause plan into my own life, which was making a massive difference to how I was feeling about myself and my own confidence, and not just as the coach but just in myself generally and in my abilities to change my career.

How has this diploma changed your confidence, career, or business results so far?

Sal Margetts: Um well it's the confidence again. Honestly I can't tell you how much confidence I've, I've I've gained um since I started this whole process. I felt so supported in my learning from the beginning and despite the personal challenges that I had with my own symptoms en route, I felt really supported by Lauren through the programme, um, she gave little check-ins when I needed it and also support from the other women on the training. So I'm still. Completing my with my practise clients, but I'm absolutely loving it and now I'm really confident about what I want to offer next and how I'm gonna add this to the skills that I already have, so that's kind of my next steps. I've been connecting with some of the local women who are doing some interesting things around menopause support such as nutrition and yoga, and I'm hoping we'll get something set up soon to work collaboratively. Um, so I'm all ideas at the minute and I'm feeling really excited about what's gonna happen next, um, but you know. I'm excited about that.

What surprised you most about the experience?

Sal Margetts: It seems obvious, but I didn't really anticipate how much it would affect me actually personally. So going through the menopause plan myself throughout the training means that I've experienced firsthand how powerful it can be, just to feel back in control, feeling able to make some small changes, which really quite felt impossible and not so distant past. I've incorporated so much of the plan into my daily life and I feel this really means I can support my future clients more honestly and effectively, because I really genuinely believe in it, I've experienced the benefits firsthand and continue to. And I learned so much and I absolutely loved it. I gained so much knowledge from being trained by Lauren and the other guest speakers, but also just the input from the rest of the group in the class and ongoing support group. It brought wealth, they brought wealth of knowledge and their shared lived experience. So it was what I hoped for and why I chose this training specifically, but I'm still blown away with how much I'm taking away from the whole experience professionally and personally.

Who would you recommend this diploma to, and why?

Sal Margetts: I would recommend women of a certain stage menopause coach training for anybody who feels strongly that there's a gap in information and support for women during perimenopause and menopause, and who wants to do something to help change that by becoming a menopause coach. This training gives you so much more than menopause facts, it's a full programme, it allows you to gain hands on experience of delivering the menopause plan, it gives you access to health and coaching experts, and you get the support of the whole group experience, and it's a certified training. Um, and plus of course you get the amazing support of Lauren, the influencing group and 1 to 1, which for me, it was priceless in value. So I can't recommend it highly enough. I'd say if you're watching this and you're curious to know more, I would encourage you to lock in with Lauren for a chat.
