Speaker: Rebecca Cooper, HR Consultant, Menopause Coach & Corporate Menopause Trainer, THIS Kind of HR Ltd

What made you choose this menopause coaching diploma instead of other options?

Rebecca Cooper: So I wanted a credible qualification, and that was really important to me that it was kind of a robust qualification that meant something. I also wanted to join live sessions because I think the value you get from that is 100 times more beneficial than any kind of online pre-recorded course. And the discussions and the connections go on well past the 2 hours a week as well. It was also about Lauren, so during our 1 to 1 call, I knew that Lauren was somebody that I wanted to work with. There's no hard sell, it's simply an ambition to educate, empower, and enable people to advocate for themselves to have a better experience, and that's exactly what I was looking for.

What specific challenge or uncertainty did you have before enrolling, and how has the training resolved that?

Rebecca Cooper: My motivation was driven by my own personal experience. So after significant lack of support from consultants, and my then employer, and finding it really hard to find credible information, I just, I just wanted to educate myself. I came into the programme 4 weeks post surgery and my energy was really low. I wasn't sure what I would learn or if it would make a massive difference. I just knew I needed to do something. And throughout this diploma, doing the menopause plan myself and taking others through it, I learned so much information, resources, tools, techniques, and I use many of them on a daily basis. My energy levels have increased so much because I'm enjoying what I'm doing and I can take control about how I manage my own energy.

How has this diploma changed your confidence, career, or business results so far?

Rebecca Cooper: I wanted to be able to support others to have a better experience than I did, but I wasn't 100% sure how it might fit into my new HR consulting business. I remember feeling like it was the right thing to do, but not sure whether it would come next or whether it would be something that I did kind of later on. During the program I learned that the energy that I got from coaching and the community that we created was something I just really needed to hold onto. I felt more in control and the feedback that I had from the practice clients felt so worthwhile. I also had the opportunity to join the trainer program at the same time as the coaching diploma and through that my next steps became just completely clear. So I came out of the diploma with clarity on my business direction, resilience in managing my own symptoms, and I was ready to help other people. During the diploma, I reached out and I also did a couple of talks and workshops and by the time I qualified, I had the confidence that not only I could do it, but that I should do this.

What surprised you most about the experience?

Rebecca Cooper: I expected to learn about menopause and I expected to learn about coaching. I didn't expect to find a community of incredible women with such diverse experiences and backgrounds. And the number of experts that Lauren brings into the program is also something that you won't find elsewhere. It's been such a gift to connect with this community from medical experts to business coaches, wellbeing experts. Each one amazing at what they do and so generous with their time and their knowledge as well. I also learned that everyone will take something different from the coaching experience and that is the beauty of it. Everyone will take exactly what they need at the time that they need it.

Who would you recommend this diploma to, and why?

Rebecca Cooper: I would recommend this program to anyone that knows that there is a better way to support women through the menopause transition and who wants to make a real difference. If you're committed and you show up and you contribute, you will walk away with so much more than a certificate. For me and the rest of my cohort that have finished the diploma, this really is just the beginning. So whether you want to do it for yourself, family, colleagues, or create a business, this coaching diploma is an amazing way to invest in yourself and invest in your future as well.
