Speaker: Karen Garner
What made you choose this menopause coaching diploma instead of other options?
Karen Garner: So I signed up for this course, um, as I'd been looking for information, um, and support around menopause, um, as I'd been struggling myself to kind of understand what was going on for me. Um, I came across Lauren on Instagram and what she spoke about just seemed to speak directly to me. Um, so I booked a call, we had a chat about the course. She talked me through what it did and didn't offer. We explored whether it was right for me, which it was, um, and Lauren's approach and manner and transparency really is kind of what got me on board and, and I'm really glad that I did.
What specific challenge or uncertainty did you have before enrolling, and how has the training resolved that?
Karen Garner: So once I'd signed up for the course, I was really looking forward to it and I was really excited, but actually I was a little bit uncertain as to whether I'd be able to manage the content, keep up with the learning. Um, I haven't done any learning like this for a long time, so kind of at the back of my mind there was a little bit of uncertainty there. I was also a little bit unsure about, you know, what other types of people would be on the course. Um, it's quite a personal and emotive subject for some people. Um, and I just kind of wondered how that would be, um, but I needn't have worried. Um, the course is laid out so well, the modules are easy to follow. There's so much information that you can absorb at your own rate, and the ladies were genuinely supportive, um, and really kind and caring, and everyone was really willing to kind of share their experiences and support everyone else.
How has this diploma changed your confidence, career, or business results so far?
Karen Garner: So throughout the course I could feel my confidence increasing. Um, each week we learned some new things and we had opportunities to practise those in breakout rooms. We developed our listening skills and we actually took um clients through the plan, we went through the plan ourselves, so we had lots of opportunities to actually experience on both sides what delivering the plan looked like. Um, moving forwards, I'm, I'm looking at developing how I can continue to support people in my local area, um, with this, um, and I'm just really excited to see where it can take me really.
What surprised you most about the experience?
Karen Garner: So one of the things that really surprised me was that the ladies on the group that I joined seemed to come from all over the world. Um, so it was a global community. They had lots of experience. There was a vast amount of talent, um, and creativity in my group, which everyone was so willing to share, and it felt really supportive. And what was surprising was how much I valued that. It wasn't something I'd thought about before I started the course. It hadn't even crossed my mind that that was something that would be really valuable. haven't experienced it, um, and spent time with those ladies and, you know, had that space to kind of explore all of our experiences and share all of our ideas. It's been so useful, so valuable, um, and was one of the things that I took away most from the course, actually.
Who would you recommend this diploma to, and why?
Karen Garner: So I would recommend this course to anybody that is looking for more information about menopause, whether that's for their own personal experience and journey, or whether that's to go on and support other people in the community or colleagues in the workplace. Um, the information that you get is accurate, it's up to date, it's all from trusted sources, um, it's easily available on the portal, it's a really positive learning experience. Lauren was an amazing facilitator, she helped us whenever we needed it. She told us regularly to trust the process, so when we had little bits of wobbles, we really kind of weren't um where we thought we should be. We were losing a little bit of confidence. She was always there to to kind of pick us up and encourage us, and she really encouraged us as a community to stick together and support each other as well. Um, and that is one of the biggest selling points for me on this course.
