Why did you become a Response Team Advocate for Womanspace?
Kimberly Owens, Womanspace Response Teams Advocate: If you had to ask me the reason why I became a Response Team Advocate for Womanspace... There's so many reasons. But the main reason is that I wanted to be that support system for the victim-survivor. There's many times that the victim-survivor has no one there for them. And I wanted to be there so that if they needed someone to cry to, I'd hand them a tissue. I'd listen to them and they need that. To be able to give them the resources that they may not think that they have to let them know that it's ok, it's not their fault. So if you asked me, Kim, why? I do it because... there's a need and having all of the training that Womanspace gives you to become an advocate, It gives you those tools you use to be able to let the victim-survivor know that it's ok, to let them know that they're gonna be able to navigate to the next step.
