Speakers: Dmitry Gladun, Sr. Accounting Manager, Wizeline

Please introduce yourself and your business, and tell us about your role at Wizeline.

Dmitry Gladun: Wizeline is a software engineering company. We build digital products for our clients. We have data science and AI in-house expertise. And our goal with every project, is to accelerate time to market, and have a transformative outcome for our client. Here at Wizeline, I head up the treasury and the tax groups. I also oversee some aspects of accounting, accounting systems, finance, risk management, and financial reporting.

What problem were you hoping to solve when you started working with Continuous Scale?

Dmitry Gladun: When I came to Wizeline, the organization had just undergone an ERP system change. NetSuite go-live was just a little bit earlier that year. We have eight separate jurisdictions for which we need local statutory and tax reporting using local standards. And we also have a consolidated US GAAP reporting requirement. Our NetSuite was set up with a Multi-Book environment. We reached out to Continuous Scale with a problem that had a very fast approaching deadline. Some of the remeasurement mechanisms that remeasured transactions from those local books and local currency to our US GAAP books in USD were not producing the results that we were expecting. We had a similar issue with a few of the modules within the ERP. The problem was exacerbated by a very short timeline between the problem identification and the deadline for the issuance of the audit opinion. We identified the problem in the beginning of December with the requirements to issue fully audited financials by mid-March.

Why did you choose to use Continuous Scale services over other options?

Dmitry Gladun: Continuous Scale took the time to understand our problems and concerns while still working within a very short timeline. Every single team member was technically skilled. Even on the initial introductory call, we were able to dig into the system configurations that were partially responsible for the unexpected results that we were seeing. Only days after the initial meeting and signing of an NDA for system and data access, Continuous Scale came back with a tailored solution and a detailed implementation plan that took into consideration our audit and financial issuance timeline.

What are your goals today, and how can Continuous Scale support you?

Dmitry Gladun: My strategic vision is to turn over all of the transaction processing from inception through to reporting over to systems. Leaving the team to do what they do best, which is strategy and planning. The terms that refer to this level of automation in accounting and finance have been coined by a couple of firms already. Deloitte has trademarked the term "Lights Out Finance," and FloQast has coined the term "One Click Close." These concepts are our guiding principles when we make any system or process decision. I feel like Continuous Scale shares our vision and brings the right expertise at the right time to build solutions that get us closer to full automation of all transaction processing and reporting.

What impact has Continuous Scale had on your business?

Dmitry Gladun: We were able to close out our US GAAP consolidated audit, done by one of the Big Four, as well as all of the required statutory and tax audits without any identified errors nor any control defficiencies. Continuous Scale has brought us not one, but many steps closer to my vision of full automation of transaction handling and reporting.

What do you like most about working with Continuous Scale? Do you have any feedback for us?

Dmitry Gladun: I have one top favorite thing about working with Continuous Scale and one that is probably most important to mention and consider. One of my favorite things about working with Continuous Scale is that they will never be a team of order-takers. They will be partners and problem solvers for system problems and solutions every single day. If they see you making a wrong decision or a mistake, they will not be afraid to tell you. And this is something that I highly value. Now, on to the most important part. The people. Many consultancies have smart and knowledgeable people. What stands out about Continuous Scale is that they're genuinely invested in their clients' long-term success. They care, even after hours, and they're there to provide advice that they, themselves, believe in. That care is hard to find. Continuous Scale wants to create lifelong relationships, and it really shows in everything that they do.

Anything else you want to share with Continuous Scale?

Dmitry Gladun: I want to give a special thank you to Sara and Cor at Continuous Scale for supporting us over the past year and a half that we've worked together. Thank you very much.
