How does West Virginia Medicaid play a role in your family's health?
Heather Sisarcick: Health insurance has allowed my family to get regular checkups, dental cleanings, stay up to date on vaccines and see a doctor when sick.
Tell us about your most recent Medicaid renewal experience.
Heather Sisarcick: Recently had to renew my Medicaid benefits through my local DHHR (DoHS) and it was very simple and very easy for us to renew that, to keep our medical coverage.
Have you experienced any embarrassment or negativity from others because of your Medicaid status?
Heather Sisarcick: I've never had any type of embarrassment or anything having the medical card thankfully.
Have you struggled to get health care services for your family?
Heather Sisarcick: Did struggle finding a provider for dental care, but we did end up finding one that provides us excellent care with our Medicaid coverage.
What would make Medicaid a better health insurance program for your family?
Heather Sisarcick: More providers that accepted the insurance. That's the only thing that would make it better. Other than that, I love everything about West Virginia Medicaid and the CHIP program.
