Tell us what it means to you to receive this scholarship.
Monica Salvo: Hi, I'm Monica. I am pursuing a master of divinity at MTSL and I came to the West Virginia Conference in 2022 and I, I was new to the UMC, but I, I became pretty astounded by the emphasis that we have on grace. And actually really was amazed at our connectional system too that, that in this new place where I didn't know anyone, people were there to support me and were able to help me through some unique challenges I had when I first came here. And so much so that a year later, uh in 2023 I felt like God had called me into being an elder, which meant that I would do more schooling. Uh And so as I was praying about this, I prayed for God to make a way financially and he did, he, he has taken care of the finances that I won't have any loans or any financial pressure while I'm in school or, or, or afterwards. And so God really answered my prayers and I'm very thankful for uh the scholarship that or the scholarships that have been given to me to be able to uh, complete my schooling.
