Speaker: Annette Carper, Pastor
Annette Carper: Hi, my name is Annette Carper. I'm serving at Johnson Memorial, United Methodist Church in Huntington. And I am the pastor here.
How did the On-Boarding process help you and your ministry?
Annette Carper: I believe on boarding was helpful because it was a time for us to come together before I even arrived at the church to start full time. And it was a time for us to ask questions, to answer questions to dialogue about the church, about the folks here about what their goals and aspirations are, how it is. They serve God. And they were able to ask the same of me. It was also good to have the facilitator who we had because she helped us to focus in on certain questions that gave us an opportunity to really think about how it is that um we're involved in life here at the church and how we can come together.
What would you share with pastors and congregations who will be part of the On-Boarding process in the future?
Annette Carper: What I would like to share with congregations and pastors who come together for on boarding is to come into it with an open mind and an open heart. We're all on the same page and we want the same thing really is to serve God. And I think if we truly come into it with an open spirit and listen to one another, I think it's a good start and only a start for us to begin uh working together. But the Lord's in it. And I think that's evident from the time that we could be together.
