Sara Alvarez: Hi, my name is Sara Alvarez and I'm currently a senior at El Cerrito High School.
Please state which college you will attend and what you will major in.
Sara Alvarez: In the fall, I'll be attending the University of Southern California and majoring in public relations.
What is one thing you are most proud of accomplishing this past year?
Sara Alvarez: I am most proud of myself for seeking new opportunities and, as a first generation student, seeking higher education.
What are you most looking forward to next year in college?
Sara Alvarez: Next year, I am most looking forward to becoming a part of the community that is on campus through joining student led organizations such as the Latino Student Association and joining organizations pertaining to my career and just meeting new people.
How does this scholarship help you progress towards your academic goals?
Sara Alvarez: On the road to higher education, financial restrictions can definitely be a roadblock. But thanks to the scholarship, my family and I have one less thing to worry about when supporting me and my dreams.
Is there anything you want to say to your scholarship donor and/or the Ed Fund?
Sara Alvarez: If I could say one thing to Ed Fund, it would be a huge thank you from the bottom of my heart for making my dreams one step closer to becoming a reality. So thank you guys so much.
