Speaker: Helena Zammarchi
Introduce yourself and tell us about your co-op this semester.
Helena Zammarchi : Hi, my name is Helena Zamar. I go to Wentworth for interior design and I am on my co op semester and I work at Nicole Hogarty Designs. It is a small residential style firm um based here in Boston in south end. And I primarily work on um helping out with presentations each week for clients. Um, I work a lot of the materials library, making sure everything is organized and easy to get to. And then I do a lot of um on site work just helping out with installations and everything like that.
While on co-op, what is a project that you've been a part of that has inspired you?
Helena Zammarchi : So, while I've been working at Nicole Hogarty designs, the project that has inspired me the most will definitely be um this Beacon Hill Brownstone home that they've been working on for about two years. And since I have come on to this project pretty late in their process, it is really inspiring to see what they started with. Um And now what they are almost finished with, it is really inspiring to see this group of women um be able to get their ideas out and into motion and present them to their client and really give them, give the clients something that they are really happy and excited to be living in.
What have you learned that you will use in your career?
Helena Zammarchi : Something that I have learned at Nicole Hogarty designs that um I will take with me for the rest of my career has to be um just gaining this true and deep understanding of having an open mind and having multiple options. Um just in case what you wanted, um just ends up not working out. Um An example of this could be something as simple as, you know, a piece of furniture, the client might love it, you might love it. Um But you know, the dimensions might not be correct or it might be out of stock or something like that. Um I would definitely say just in general, having an open mind is going to really help me a lot in the future.
