Speaker: Angela Liang
Introduce yourself and tell us about your co-op this semester.
Angela Liang: Hello, my name is Angela. I'm a junior in architecture and I'm working at Damon McQuid Architects as my spring co op. Work is pretty fun as a drafting assistant, I am learning a ton about what it is like to be an architect. I shadow my boss and attend meetings with other professionals. From time to time, I go on site visits to survey the construction process in person. Um, but most of the time I'm working on Rebit, a program used by most architects to draw plans.
While on co-op, what is a project that you've been a part of that has inspired you?
Angela Liang: I do a lot of residential work at my current co op and it always makes me happy to be able to serve plans to a client and really work with them to create their dream home. The iterative back and forth process is really fun for me and I love finding new ways to work around a plan to create better and better plans.
What have you learned that you will use in your career?
Angela Liang: I'll say the most important thing I learned at my current co op is Revit. The program is packed full of information, so learning how to use it effectively has helped me tremendously as a student, but it will also give me a huge step up in finding another job down the line.
