Please introduce yourself and tell why you chose to attend WE LEAD?
Jenna Bartkiewicz: Hi, my name is Jenna Barkow and I'm with education element. Um, and originally, um, chose to attend, we lead a few weeks ago in Litchfield, um, to meet people, um, um, working in South Carolina and was really excited, um, just to have a chance to meet and get to know different, um, women leaders across the state. Um, I felt like I left with a lot more than that. Um, in terms of, yes, I got to connect. I got to meet incredible leaders, um, incredible women doing just some really, really great work. Um, but I also had, I left with a lot of really solid tools, um, and learned a ton. I, I really, I've a couple of like the different strategies I learned in the sessions. I'm still using today weeks later. Um, and so, yes, I got to meet people. Yes, I got to make, um, some really good connections, but I also learned a ton and, and had some great, great takeaways leaving, um, the conference.
What was one of the most impactful takeaways for you?
Jenna Bartkiewicz: One of the most impactful takeaways that I had, I think was um in, in one of the sessions, there was um a really concrete practical strategy of like ways to get and be present. Um And I've always heard and kind of practiced, focus on focus on your breathing. Um But this one, this recommendation was to tap into your five senses. Um And so, what are you hearing? What are you seeing? What are you smelling? And you know, so, and I have used it, it has been just really, really impactful for me. Um When I find myself in places, either looking ahead and starting to worry about something coming up or looking into the past and like how things could have changed. Um It's really helpful in terms of just of being and staying in the present moment.
What makes this event different from others you’ve attended in the past?
Jenna Bartkiewicz: One of the things that made this event different from others that I've attended is one and just that it was all, it was all women. Um It was all women in, in leadership. And um I just found it really inspiring, I think, um and empowering to hear some of the different stories and to really walk away with concrete practical things that would make me um a stronger leader in some of the work that I do. So I think that's the biggest thing. It's just that it was all women and to that I got to walk away with some really practical tools.
