Speaker: Beverly Emory Britton, Coaching Consultant/Retired

Please introduce yourself and tell why you chose to attend WE LEAD?

Beverly Emory Britton: I've really enjoyed being a part of. WE LEAD. I love every conference. They all have their own unique personality and the women are all inspiring who attend. I learn something every time that I can apply in my life and in my, in my work, even while retired. But most importantly, I feel a bond and know that there are ways that we can support each other as women leaders in education or any, any career. It, it's just always an inspiration and something that I look forward to.

What was one of the most impactful takeaways for you?

Beverly Emory Britton: At every conference, there is a life story of a woman entrepreneur leader survivor that just makes me feel strong and is so encouraging and I can look around the room and see that others are truly inspired by these personal stories of overcoming and achieving um despite sort of grassroots challenges for, for these individuals.

What makes this event different from others you’ve attended in the past?

Beverly Emory Britton: So often when we go to a conference, it really is professionally geared and, and that's ok. What I love about we lead is the nice balance between um taking care of yourself and how to grow and develop as a, a human, a woman. How to learn from other people's experiences and not so focused on the nuts and bolts or content oriented aspects of education in the profession. There's also lots of time to engage and bond and build fellowship with your colleagues, which um is intentional, it's not just golf or a reception. it's really built into the conference.
