What is the most valuable thing that you learned from the Emerge program?
Alexander Roy: The most valuable thing that I took out of the emerge program came from the coaching and feedback portion. I found it very valuable to know the difference between coaching and feedback and more importantly when to use which one in a particular situation. So I found it incredibly applicable to the job I've been doing at Wayfair.
What was your experience like with your peer group?
Alexander Roy: My experience with my peer group during emerge was incredibly positive. I got to work alongside people I haven't worked with. And during the course of the Emerge Program, I realized that some of these people are in the state that I currently live in. So they weren't even that far from home. During that time. I got to hear some perspectives I've never heard before and work with departments that I've never worked with before. So it was positive all around and it was a great experience.
How has Emerge helped you on your management/leadership journey at Wayfair?
Alexander Roy: Emerge has helped me with my management and leadership journey in multiple ways since the program ended. And even during the program, it was actively helping me even that day. For example, during the coaching and feedback portion after that session ended, I had a one on one, I had to conduct an hour or two later. And I was able to take information from that session directly and apply it to my one on one I was having. So I was able to apply information from Emerge within an hour or two of me receiving it during the session.
