Speakers: Hank Portney

Hank Portney: Waterfront Montessori made me the person that I am today. As a student there, I learned all of my communication, persistence and time management skills, and it grew to have a deep love of learning and confidence in my ability to solve problems that I carry into everything that I do today.

Hank Portney: My favorite memory of Waterfront has to be my time on the Security Council at Montessori Model United Nations. After months of research, position, paper writing and practice debate, the entire upper elementary and middle school classes took a four-day field trip to New York City and stayed in a hotel for the conference alongside loving spending time with my friends in the big city. I really enjoyed representing the United States and China in the Security Council alongside other Montessori students in rich debate, and I really enjoyed speaking on the floor of the U.N. General Assembly.

Hank Portney: If you're considering Waterfront Montessori, I'd say you have to go there. I'm not exaggerating. When I say, I've made all of my lifelong friends at Waterfront and the school prepared me for the world after education arguably more than my high school and college did by giving me the confidence and tools I needed to succeed.
