What does a typical day look like for you?
Goodness Ohanyere: I will typically start my day by making a cup of coffee. Afterwards I'll check my email and respond to messages and then I will jump into my daily stand up that starts around 10:30. After my daily stand up, I would check to see if I have more tasks on Jira and complete any outstanding tasks and start the new ones. On some days I have more meetings than others. Otherwise I just focus on my tasks for the day.
What do you like most about your role?
Goodness Ohanyere: What I like about my role is the opportunity. It gives me to learn about the iGaming industry. It's a very fast paced environment and working from project to project gives me the opportunity to learn new things. It can be very challenging and interesting at the same time. But most of all, I love the the fulfillment that comes with seeing the projects that we work on go live and you really see people interacting, you see the statistics and it's actually very fulfilling.
What was the most interesting project you have ever worked on?
Goodness Ohanyere: The most interesting project I've ever worked on is the design system that we're currently building in the design team. It is the biggest and most challenging project I've ever been involved with. This project is aimed at taking the design department to the next level. We're creating uniformity in our design language and streamline training processes. And this has pushed me to learn a lot about different frameworks and solutions and knowing which one would work best for the team. Yeah, it's been a learning experience for me. Learning about design system and collaborating with my teammates.
How does your work impact people inside or outside the company?
Goodness Ohanyere: The design team plays a crucial role in the on boarding of new clients and building of internal tools. I make sure that I collaborate with my teammates to understand each project and execute them excellently. Externally, my work directly influences the clients by delivering user friendly designs and innovative solution. I aim to improve their experience while interacting with our products. Overall, I provide value to both the internal stakeholders and to the clients and to make sure that our products meet and exceed your expectations.
How is WA.Technology different from the companies you have worked for in the past?
Goodness Ohanyere: Working in WA.Technology has been so amazing. It's been fun. Here's some of the things I love about working here. Firstly, WA.Technology supports a work life balance and that is something that I am very big on. My time is well respected. I don't get assigned tasks outside work hours and breaks are always encouraged.
Goodness Ohanyere: Also, the company organizes physical events that allows for workers to meet. And that is something that is important to me considering the fact that I work remotely. Meeting my teammates physically and bonding with them increases interpersonal relationships. Secondly, WA.Technology creates an environment that allows me to grow in my career. I have access to various learning materials and courses that would help me sharpen my skills. I think that's really interesting. Thirdly, WA.Technology allows me to think outside the box, it provides an environment where I can, you know, be creative. The meetings are usually very engaging and we're always encouraged to share our opinions and that way I can share the things that I know, and I can also learn from other people.
What sets the design team at WA.Technology apart?
Goodness Ohanyere: The design team is usually the first touch point for client request. And we play a crucial role in ensuring that the client's needs are met by listening attentively, asking insightful questions and translating their request into actionable designs. We work to make sure that the outcome is closely aligned to the client's expectations.
What do you do outside of work?
Goodness Ohanyere: OK, outside work, I am a content creator. I make video content on beauty lifestyle and tech topics. I also photograph in church and I also like to try out new restaurants. When I'm not doing any of these things, I'm either playing games or just sleeping.
