When did you first hear about Serve and Protect Credit Union and why did you join?
Velile: I had a friend from from the Army, he's a chef now, he wanted to buy a car. And then after a few weeks time, he asked a loan from Serve and Protect. It didn't even take that long. And then he got that loan, and then he bought his car. That's how I found out about it.
How has the credit union helped you?
Velile: Ok, my mom's house in South Africa collapsed, and then we were supposed to be building to get her a new home, rebuild the house either way, and then we didn't have any plan. And then the money that I was saving was not enough to do it. And then I had to take a loan and I used Serve and Protect because I've seen my friend, He asked for a loan in Serve and Protect and a couple of weeks he got the loan. So I took my chances, came to Serve and Protect and then Serve and Protect came through to me. I got a loan, and then I was able to help my mom rebuild her house. So Serve and Protect helped me a lot.
What is the best thing about being part of the credit union?
Velile: The best thing for me to be part of a credit union, sometimes you can save money from credit union, and it doesn't even take long when you want to take your money out. You can have your salary on the side and have savings on Serve and Protect. Then when you've ran out you can come to Serve and Protect as well, and you can able to withdraw that money with no dramas. So I think it's the best thing to be in Serve and Protect. You can get help there, and you can even save your money there. So I recommend Serve and Protect highly to be honest.
