What is your name, where are you from and what was your position when you joined Vantiva as VIE.
Faress DJALAL: Hello, my name is Faress Djalal I am French and I joined Vantiva in Atlanta USA as a global component engineer under a VIE (International corporate volunteering) contract for a duration of one year and a half.
What opportunities for growth and development have you had at Vantiva?
Faress DJALAL: I had the opportunity to develop my skills by working closely with the global category manager. During the definition of strategy and discussion with suppliers. This experience allowed me to evolve into the role of category manager later on.
What is your current position and where? responsibilities/tasks
Faress DJALAL: I'm currently a global category manager in Beijing, China. My responsibilities include developing a sourcing strategy, managing supplier relationship and negotiating prices, conditions and terms.
What do you enjoy most about your role at Vantiva?
Faress DJALAL: What I appreciate in my role as a global category manager is the interaction with internal and external stakeholders and the opportunity to meet people's needs. While learning a lot of information in marketing side, technology trend, project roadmap and a lot of other documentation.
What advice would you give to someone considering joining Vantiva?
Faress DJALAL: The advice I would give to someone joining Vantiva is that there are plenty of opportunities to grow within Vantiva. even if you are internal and junior, you will always be listened to when you have proposals to improve tools and processes. you will also enjoy working with a lot of people across the world, with different cultures, different thinking and this is the best way to learn and to improve personally and in your job.
