Please introduce yourself: What is your name, what company do you work for and what is your role or job title?
Mathias Grannes: Hi, everyone. I am Mathias Grannes. I am the sales manager for the data center department in Coromatic in Norway. My role is basically to talk to customers about our solutions. We have our own department for generators and UPS as well as turn key data centers, service and maintenance. So we stay with our clients and customers throughout the life cycle of their data center.
Please tell us what Uptime Institute course you completed.
Mathias Grannes: So in Coromatic we have a lot of personnel with technical backgrounds from engineering or, or other and they have done several courses with Uptime Institute. It could be for the Tier Designer, the Tier Specialist or or Operations Specialist. So now we see a lot of customers moving to Norway because of the sustainability part. And you know, the EU is coming with a lot of regulation for our industry. So now we wanted to add to our expertise to help our customers become the most sustainable. So I have completed the Accredited Sustainability Advisor within Uptime Institute.
What did you like best about the course?
Mathias Grannes: What did I like the best about the course? Well, it's very professional and it's very well structured. So it's tough subjects and, and I really enjoyed that we split it into different sections and we could have a knowledgeable instructor to, help us out with the different portions. And I feel in the group with the pupils, so to speak, we had great discussions and we had very different backgrounds and we could see and discuss to how we could implement a lot of the stuff we learned from the course and its very broad perspective. So it's not really just for just that type of data center or role in a company, it's a much wider perspective to see how we could work together with also other companies or, or to find solutions. So, it also straight away gave me some tools and tips to how my company and, and myself could work in future to really make a difference in this perspective.
How will this training help you day-to-day on the job?
Mathias Grannes: So I already spoke about that. We got some tools that we could straight away use. And you know, we also added to our expertise and we already have received proposals for contributing to look at optional fuels for our generators. And as well, we are a part of sustainability groups or boards within our industry. And I personally feel a lot more comfortable and confident talking in these groups when I know they are, what we are talking about is aligned with the Uptime Institute courses.
