Speaker: Blair Mcdonough
How did your doctors describe the treatment options (surgery and/or antibiotics) and did they recommend one treatment over the other?
Blair Mcdonough : They went over both treatment plans. Um, one for surgery and one for antibiotics. Um, they immediately did put me on antibiotics while I was waiting for surgery and then gave me information to look over with my spouse to determine which option was better for my family and my current work situation at the time. And based off of those options, I decided to go ahead and proceed with surgery and they went over the benefits and the risks with both options. And the reason I picked surgery was because if I was on an antibiotic, there could be a chance for it possibly to happen again where if the surgery would prevent that from happening in the future, that was the benefit versus the risks.
