Speakers: Patty Johnston. Wes Bargeloh. Angela M Jones

Patty Johnston: Hello, I'm Patty Johnston from the United Methodist Temple in Beckley. I had the privilege of serving on the Board of Trustees for the United Methodist Foundation for six years. Two of those years as chairperson. It was always so moving to hear the stories of people who had supported The Foundation and how their contributions had impacted the recipients and all the good that had resulted from that.

Angela M Jones: Hello, I'm Angela Jones. I serve as an administrative assistant for the West Virginia Conference of the United Methodist Church. My experience with the United Methodist Foundation's ministry started as soon as I was hired on full time. As I filled out my new hire paperwork, there are questions about designating beneficiaries for my retirement benefits package and as a person who is rolling through life kind of solo, no spouse or partner or children or parents still around, I didn't have any single name to put on any of those lines. And after several questions, I finally heard the suggestion, why don't you contact The Foundation? So I did. And now I can rest assured that my favorite organizations and charities can benefit after I'm gone. Even if I don't have a single person to handle those details. For me, I know that The Foundation will very ably handle those details.

Wes Bargeloh: This is Wes Bargeloh I am a long time United Methodist and I'm currently associated with Stout Memorial United Methodist Church in Parkersburg.

Wes Bargeloh: The United Methodist Foundation has allowed me to have a trustworthy and efficient means of accomplishing my goals. I have long desired to support the education of those who are pursuing the ministry.

Wes Bargeloh: In talking with the staff of The Foundation, I was immediately very comfortable in their responses and my first endeavor was to create scholarship assistance for ministry training.

Wes Bargeloh: The United Methodist Foundation has given me, by way of the donor advised fund, the means to support many worthwhile nonprofit organizations. The ability to quickly and efficiently respond to the work has been a blessing.

Patty Johnston: The ministry of The Foundation is to connect donors with their passion for ministry.
