Speaker: Maggie Fishwick
Can you introduce yourself and tell us a little about your background?
Maggie Fishwick: Hi, I'm Maggie. I live in Spain. I moved here in February 2020 just before Covid with my partner, Eddie, and our dog, Charlie, who is sadly no longer with us. I'm originally from Manchester, where I worked in financial services. I have a daughter who is 27 and has recently moved to San Francisco. So I'm in the process of planning my first Californian holiday.
How long have you been working as a carer and what motivated you to become a carer?
Maggie Fishwick: I became a living carer just over three years ago, and it's been so rewarding to give people the ability to maintain their independence whilst living in their own homes, regardless of age or circumstances.
What hobbies and interests do you have?
Maggie Fishwick: in my free time. I like to paint. I wouldn't say I'm fabulous at it, but I have managed to frame some and put them up on the walls. My dad was a great artist, so maybe I've inherited some of his skills. I also like to take pictures, so I've just bought myself a new camera. So I'm often out and about trying to take some great shots, especially wildlife. And I also love cooking. I'll cook on a regular basis, and I'll attempt any cuisine.
