What do you enjoy most about your job / the sector?
Monica Paolini: In telecoms and in wireless specifically, what I feel is that not only I follow topics that I personally find enjoyable, fun and intellectually stimulating. But also it, it's really good for for society, for the environment. We are really lucky to be in a sector that is being helpful. Ok, I know that there are people that complain that, you know, we might be using our cell phones too much or social media or whatever. But when you think about it, that has been such a major contribution. So with the, the, you know, the, the very first project of consequence that I did was to work on public Wi-Fi, what we call public Wi-Fi. And at the time, nobody was you know, Wi-Fi was just used in enterprise and and, and some people at home, it was not used for public access and it has been a massive massive success, you know, 80% of the traffic now goes over Wi-Fi. And to know that I was a part of I'm not saying that it was me creating this but to that I was trying to push that kind of model makes me feel really happy and have some sense of purpose and usefulness in, in what I did. And so, so there are ways in which we can not, not, not change the world, but just give it a little bit of a push in, in, in the right direction. And so, to me that has been very important through the years.
What would you like people to know about working in telecoms and connectivity?
Monica Paolini: And I think that for me, well, what, what I consider to be the most important thing is that you would be working in a sector that has been, continues to be, and will be massively important in our quality of life in the, the kind of tools we have available. And so it's incredibly socially important what we are doing in enabling that kind of services networks. So clearly each one of us is gonna play a small part in it. But we are part of this big enabling type of environment.
