Tell us about your job and what it involves
Eugina Jordan: Hi, everyone. My name is Eugina Jordan and I am the chief marketing officer for TIP. We are an industry organisation in telecom. I started in telecom 23 years ago as a receptionist. What I loved about the industry is continuous learning. I also love the people. I got to work throughout my career. I did different jobs from receptionist to chief of staff. And then I found my passion, which was marketing. What I love the most about telecom is how innovative the industry is. I've built an amazing career in telecom and if you join our industry, you can build just an amazing career as me.
How did you get there – what’s your career journey been so far?
What do you enjoy most about your job / the sector?
Eugina Jordan: What I love about telecom is how integral it is to everything we do in our lives. Telecom is the foundation for everything from wireless communications to e-learning e-health to internet of things. And the list goes on and on and on. Being part of something so big that can impact so many people across the globe is absolutely amazing. What I love about my job. The most working for an industry organisation is exciting at tip. We drive innovations in our industry, artificial intelligence, machine learning, open and disaggregated and telling the world about how our members or how our TIP's, participants innovate in the industry is a very, very rewarding job.
What would you like people to know about working in telecoms and connectivity?
Eugina Jordan: What I would like people to know about working in telecom. One thing, career opportunity and growth. There's a lot of jobs available and you can be anything you wanna be in telecom, you can start as a tower climber and then move into operations. You can start as a receptionist and then become the CMO the opportunities are endless. If you join telecom, the world of telecom is gonna be yours.
