Speaker: Adele Partridge, Health and Safety in Care
What course did you do and what did you enjoy about it?
Adele Partridge: Hello. Well, I studied online. I did the Fire Door Awareness course and that was studied through UK Fire Door training. It was one of the easiest courses. I've done one of the most enjoyable ones really because, uh, it was very easy to, uh, start the course, uh, to pick up notes. And I sent a lot of, um, nice things afterwards such as a fire door checklist. It really helped me in my job as a fire door auditor just to refresh me, uh, or even as a new person, it would definitely work to teach you what you have to check with fire doors and how to do it and how that also applies with the fire regulations. So, for me, I would give it a five, a 10 out of 10 or if you could do a 20 out of 10, I'll definitely do it that way. So, yes, it's given me the confidence to go ahead and do the fire door audits. Uh, and it also helped me to, um, you know, sort of explain to my clients, for example, what I'm doing and why I'm doing it and when you do the reports, it also helps you to explain why doors are not fire compliance. So, yeah, I absolutely enjoyed it. I would definitely recommend it to anybody who wants a thorough course. Uh Not in complicated languages. Lots and lots of notes, uh, including a checklist as well reminder. So, if you're new to fire a audits, then, yep. Absolutely brilliant. So many thanks to UK fire Door training for uh providing this course for me and uh if you're going to do it too, then good luck. I do hope you enjoy it. Thank you.
How has doing a course with UK Fire Door Training impacted your business?
Adele Partridge: So basically one of my clients, I mean, I work in education and unfortunately, there was a fire in one of the schools that I work with. Uh and the recommendation that fire brigade gave to the school after the fire, which thankfully was contained there. So two classrooms were burnt out. But um, you know, luckily they did have their doors closed. So for that particular client, which is part of an academy group, uh all of the academy schools were advised to have their fire doors inspected. Great for me. Great timing that I took the course as uh this was, I finished the course in October 2023. And then this fire happened in January 24. And so far I have spent 11 days also just on fire door audits. So, yes, I have got lots more work coming up on fire doors. In fact, I think I could probably do it as a full time job. So, yeah, this door course was absolutely perfect for getting new, new work.
How likely are you to recommend UK Fire Door Training?
Adele Partridge: I would certainly recommend the training to a friend or a colleague. Uh You know, I do know a lot of people that now as I was explaining about that uh school and the education services that have had the fire, then I've gone in and done the full inspection and the in-house team now need to go along and do regular inspections. They also need to know uh that the recommendations I've put on the report, uh they can go back and do remedial action or get somebody and they know what they're doing. So I would definitely recommend to those people who have been tasked on actioning things have been picked out in their five audits for surveys. For example, they go ahead do this course very easy to follow some of the maintenance teams. You know, they don't like a lot of writing and they don't want the exam sort of feeling or they don't want to go and sit in a room full of people where maybe they might feel a little bit in confident. So, uh you know, if you have a lack of confidence and this is a great way of doing it. Because you can do it at your own pace. And yeah, it gives you everything you need to know, to know what you're talking about.
