Speakers: Peter, B.A. in Christian Studies, John Witherspoon College. Lindsey, B.A. in Christian Studies, John Witherspoon College. Isak

What was your favorite course with Professor McGeary and why?

Peter: My favorite subject with Professor McGeary was New Testament Greek. He does a great job of taking complex subjects and complex concepts and making them relatable and understandable to an audience that's otherwise foreign to those things.

Isak: One of my favorite classes with Professor McGeary, I would say, it would probably be the Greek classes at John Witherspoon. I enjoyed all four semesters of Greek. They were fantastic. I especially appreciate Greek four where we would walk through the Greek text that we just translated the week before and we would look at maybe what the Greek said that would be a variant or different from the English and kind of look at what so the author was getting at and I thought that was always helpful and I always appreciated too that we would parse in class and we would translate in class and I thought that was just helpful. He would give us helpful feedback and help us walk through, maybe something we missed. He always asked good questions. He was willing to answer questions that may, that we may have had in a very great manner. Oftentimes, if you didn't know it, he would, if he didn't know the answer to a question, he would go and find, find out what the answer was and bring it back to class and give us what he thought on it and I thought that was always super helpful. So, yeah, I definitely appreciated those courses of Greek.

Lindsey: So I would love that the, another class that I enjoyed was learning Greek from Professor McGeary. I would say he is the one who made me love Greek compared to just learning it and grinding through a language and a language classes are definitely some of the hardest ones to experience in any college and especially a rigorous Christian school. And Professor McGeary really taught me to love the word of God in its original language.

If you had to choose one, what would be your favorite feature of Professor McGeary's teaching? How has it helped you?

Lindsey: A favorite feature of Professor McGeary's teaching that I experienced firsthand was his push for quality.

Peter: My favorite feature of Professor McGeary's teaching style is his clarity. And what I mean is he takes subject matter that can be difficult to synthesize and sift through and he presents it in a clear manner that helps a person grapple with that information and synthesize it themselves.

How likely are you to recommend taking a class with Professor McGeary and why?

Peter: In a world that lacks integrity amongst academics. I would highly recommend people to Professor McGeary as a, a teacher, as a professor because he is a man of integrity.

Isak: Personally. I think if I were to recommend taking a class from Professor McGeary, I would easily answer 10 out of 10. I think it's totally recommended that for if any student has a chance to take a class with Professor McGeary, the way he teaches is is in such a easily a learnable way. I've had professors in my life for, to be honest, I just get tired of listening to it, it gets boring and that really is not the case with Professor McGeary. He's does really well at keeping you engaged with material again, asking good questions throughout the lecture. In regards to his lectures, his lectures are not boring by any means you definitely learn from the material he presents. So I definitely would 10 to 10 to recommend him. He's very encouraging throughout say his classes say if maybe you're having a tougher, tougher assignments or tougher day, he's comes alongside of you and helps you, encourages you through the process to be able to grow as a student.

Lindsey: I strongly recommend taking a class with Justin mcgary. He is an excellent teacher, very fun and engaging, very professional, very smart and intellectual. Um He has so many skills to offer to students. Um He's taught me how to write. He's taught me how to learn. He's taught me how to think and I think that everybody would benefit from just being in his presence and learning how to learn from him. He's an excellent teacher and I strongly recommend.
