Introduce yourself and what your company does.

Ailene Tisser : Hi, I'm Eileen Tis and I am one of the co-founders of swim angel fish. Along with my partner Cindy Friedman, we created swim angel fish about 24 years ago with the focus and mission being to transform the lives of individuals in adaptive aquatics. So we not only we work with individuals doing aquatic therapy, but we do adaptive swim lessons. And then we work with swim instructors and therapists around the world in getting them trained and certified in our methodology. So they have the tools that they need to successfully work with swimmers that have some type of special needs. We work with swimmers from any type of issue, whether they're struggling with anxiety or struggling with motor co ordination, autism, any type of um sensory or motor issue and with the rates of autism and even developmental disabilities increasing. We're seeing that one in six Children have some type of a developmental disability and one in 35 Children are being diagnosed with autism. So we feel that it's so important for instructors to have the tools they need to understand the underlying problem these individuals are having as they learn to swim, we've put out a lot of resources and we're most proud of the resource on the home page of our website, which is our adaptive water safety toolkit so that we could make sure that families that have any type of issue with their child has the resources they need to keep their child safe and to work together to save lives and really help this very unique population, be safer around water.

What has your experience been regarding the Build and Program A Pool Conference?

Ailene Tisser : We've really loved being a part of the build a pool conference and we're so impressed and excited about how total aquatic programming is growing. Not only as consultants regarding building your own pool, but they even help you with the programming to make your facility as effective and as productive as possible, serving the the vast needs of the communities that they're in. So we love being a part of the build a pool conference. And we think the information that they're providing from nuts and bolts of building the pool to programming is really, really valuable.

Invite those considering building an Aquatic Center to the 2024 National Build & Program A Pool Conference on February 10th and 11th.

Ailene Tisser : I just want to invite those of you looking to build an aquatic center to the next build a pool conference, which is going to be in Reno, February 10th and 11th alongside the A OAP conference. You will get so many resources there and learn so much information to bring back to your aquatic center, whether it's building or whether it's more programming to meet the needs of your community, hope to see you in Reno. And while I won't be there, personally, my partner and co founder of Swim Angel Fish, Cindy Friedman will be there and she's looking forward to meeting you.
