Speaker: Tom Hampton
Tom Hampton: What's up, Buckeye Nation? My name is Tom Hampton from the class of 2006. As a member of The Ohio State University Alumni Club of Franklin County, I'm proud of all that we do for our community. Whether it be networking, community service, or the social aspects of the club, I'm glad to be a Buckeye that gives back and pays it forward. I'm especially proud when we award scholarships to incoming freshmen that will be attending our fine university. As a member of the club, I've had the opportunity to review scholarships, which is my favorite way to be involved. Upon reviewing applications, the stories of struggle, heartache, character, and perseverance inspire me to continue to advance the cause of awarding excellence.
If you could share a message with someone who is thinking about volunteering, what would you say to encourage them to pay forward?
Tom Hampton: For someone considering volunteering in the future, I ask that they remember a time when they were a student on campus and had some pack of their life. That may have been a professor, a mentor, a coach, or even um. Now, as an alumni volunteer, you have the opportunity to assist the next generation on their collegiate journey.
