ESG Committee

Environmental, Social & Governance

Jean Cook: Hello, everyone. I'm Jean Cook. I'm the COO here at Travel Nurse Across America. And it's also my great privilege to be part of the ESG committee here. A lot of times when we say we're the ESG committee, people are like, what the heck is ESG. So let's define that for us. It's three initials, right? ESG is Environment, S is Social and G is Governance and ESG is about companies, organizations, how they set policy, what methodologies they use, what practices they put in place that negate bad impacts on or add helpful, positive impacts to the three things, the environment, society and governance. So what's an example of each of those: Environment- we partnered with marketing last year to plant a tree for every employee traveler and internal. This year we were part of the 'Thankful Week' and supported the community efforts where we asked people to give back in their community. Governance as much as we hate to sort of whine about it. Let's be honest. Compliance Training is an important part of governance, informing people of the rules and how to react and who to go to for help. You can tell ESG is a very broad, very big thing. I can't do that alone. I have a really great committee. We have a really great committee that works on it. Members of the committee are Laura Cook, Misty Hood, Allison Nance, Madison Livingston, Dane Hawkins, Bill Rhodes and Sara Engstrom. So big applause and big thanks to all of you committee members who have gone down this ESG journey for TNAA. We're a newer committee so you haven't heard a lot about us yet probably. But let me tell you a little bit about our journey. We had a study done to see where we're at against our competition. We surveyed all of our internal employees, we surveyed travelers, we wanted to see where do we stand and what do our employees think of how we are doing on ESG and where are the things we could be better. Based on all the information that we learned. We've put together a ESG Statement of how we feel about it and how we stand as a company with ESG. We have formulated our statement around being a good employer and around being a good corporate citizen. If we're a good employer and we're a good corporate citizen, we will accomplish the things that we need to accomplish in the ESG world. That statement and information about our ESG efforts have been put together into a package. You're not going to go on to our website. So that all of us, travelers and potential travelers can see how we deal with ESG. It's important to people, how their company does what they do in the world and we want to make sure that folks can see what we're doing and we'll keep that information updated. The next thing that we're gonna get into is planning more events both in partnership with other committees and sponsoring some events ourselves. We're particularly looking to sponsor some sort of nationwide giving back effort with a partner or partners in the charitable world. So, we'll be looking to do something with that next year. As well as we want to think about some additional environment, things that we could support. So those are the next couple of things on our list. We would love to have all of you join us. We will be looking for a couple of committee members for next year. So please consider that, watch for emails about programs and join in and please consider how you impact the environment and society as an individual in your own life. Friendly call to action, find a way to donate some time to plant a tree, to be a part of the positive impact on environment and society. Thank you.
