Speaker: Tiffany Welter, Director of Adoptions
Tell us about you!
Tiffany Welter: I'm Doctor Tiffany Welter, Director of Adoptions at the Family Network Adoption Center. We provide adoption services throughout the state of California. I have a bachelor's degree in human development and psychology and a master's in social work. I also have a doctorate in leadership. Over the last 20 years, I've worked in social services in various roles and as a child advocate and I've worked in adoption for almost seven years before taking a director position. I worked in the field and I had done hundreds of home studies and post placements.
Why do you work in adoption?
Tiffany Welter: I choose to work in adoption because out of all the many areas of social work I find adoption to be for sure the most positive and rewarding.
What's one piece of advice you have for families starting the adoption journey?
Tiffany Welter: Advice for families just starting out in the adoption process would be to prioritize patients perseverance and empathy. This is this can be a lengthy process. It's often complex and emotional journey. So I would recommend educating yourself finding support, preparing emotionally and financially staying positive and continuing to learn.
What's one thing people don't know about you?
Tiffany Welter: I really enjoy traveling and something, a lot of people don't know about me is that I have been to 26 countries.
