Isabel Tong: One of the main differences that I felt Mr. Tham's lessons had was that they were very individualized and very flexible. It really allowed students to learn at their own pace, and I found that very useful.
1️⃣ Brief Introduction

Isabel Tong: Hi, my name is Isabel, and I take H2 mathematics, and I got an A for math at the A levels.
2️⃣ Before joining The Thinkers Cap, what challenges were you facing?
Isabel Tong: One of my main challenges I faced before joining Thinkers Cap was application. I would be able to understand the concepts, but when it came to applying the concepts and doing difficult questions, I found a lot of difficulty there. Moreover, I always struggled with exam anxiety, where sometimes I would blank out in the exam and panic when I was unable to do certain questions.
3️⃣ What was different about the lessons or teaching approach here compared to what you experienced before?
Isabel Tong: One of the main differences that I felt Mr. Tham's lessons had was that they were very individualized and very flexible. It really allowed students to learn at their own pace, and I found that very useful. As for topics that I was weak in, I was able to really invest enough time in clarifying those doubts and making sure I was able to master them. Moreover, Mr. Tham also has very simple and understandable solutions and methods, which really helped me in very complex concepts that I found difficulty understanding.
4️⃣ What changed in your understanding, confidence, or exam performance after attending lessons?
Isabel Tong: One of the main improvements I felt I went through was getting rid of my exam anxiety. Mr. Tham will give us tips and tricks on how to manage our time and stress during the exams, and I felt that really helped a lot. Another thing was the mock exams where he would provide us an exam setting and time pressure to do the exam papers, and that really helped me condition myself and get rid of the exam anxiety so that during the A Levels I would not blank out and panic.
5️⃣ What would you say to students who are currently preparing for their A-Levels or considering joining?
Isabel Tong: One of my main advice for students is to clarify your doubts early, this is because the A level syllabus, it tends to build up on each other where you need to get your foundation from previous topics down before you learn new topics, so I think it's very important to make sure you clarify all your doubts and get your foundation there. And if you're currently struggling with the content or you find classes too fast paced, I think joining Thinkers Cap is a good option because the flexibility and individualized learning will really allow you to have time to zoom in on topics that you're not good in and clarify your doubts.
