Could you describe a time that The Voiceover Gurus helped you?
Norm Izard: Hi there, my name's Norm Izard of Vocal norm.com. I'm an aspiring, well, actually kind of a partially working, voice actor currently. I got familiarized with the Voiceover Gurus first, doing a little research online trying to find out about voiceover. And I came across the podcast and I started with episode one and I listened to everything I could, , got some great advice on there. I was like, hey, you know, I'm gonna check these guys out. So I went to the website and I signed up for one of the workouts with Linda and JJ and it was such a great experience, , being coached and them watching the other people be coached as well. After that, I did another workout with Linda and Alyssa again. It was, it was awesome and Alyssa brought like a little bit more of the acting part to it, which was pretty cool. So I followed that up with, taking the basics VO course that they, they offer on the website. And pretty soon after that, I reached out to Linda and said, hey, I'd like to do some lessons with you and, get to the point where I can do my demo and, surprise, surprise, Linda kind of thought I was pretty close to being ready at that point. She did some testing with me and, we set up a, basically several lessons to, to work on my demo with her and, and Alyssa and it worked out great. I couldn't be happier with my demo. It really came out amazing. I'm getting jobs from it already. I can't wait to do a workout with, with Kevin Kilparick because I definitely want to get into the narration part of things. But yeah, I'm now considered a working vo because I, I've been getting jobs. I've done some source direct sessions. Linda's been giving me some great advice and, you really couldn't, couldn't work with a better group. How would you describe The Voiceover Gurus in three words?
Norm Izard: Three words to describe the voiceover gurus. I'm gonna say realistic and fun and definitely thorough, I mean. Yeah.
How are The Voiceover Gurus different from other coaching services?
Norm Izard: If I were to say how the Gurus are different from other coaching services, I would probably say that, they're pretty upfront. They don't make any promises. You know, if, if you're willing to do the work, they're willing to help you do it. And if for some reason they think you're not doing it or you can't do it, they're going to let you know that, they're, they're not there just to take your money and, and just keep on coaching you and, you know, you're never going to get any better. They really are, you know, just upfront about everything and they really do want to help you if they can, you know.
