What was going on in your life and career that made you want to join NLCA?

Buffy Brown: Hi, so my question is what was going on in my life and career that made me want to join an LCA. So for the past 3 to 4 years, I have been trying to start my own business and really struggling with coming up with the exact. idea of what that would look like, and I am in the hospice industry. I'm a registered nurse, and for the longest, I wanted to be an end of life death doula. But honestly, just struggling again with how to make a business concept gel as a doula. I happened to stumble upon the certification process for the NLCA on Facebook. I saw an ad and I did some research. I actually looked into several different certifications for nurse life coaches. And I was sold on the idea and I, after some thought and and thinking about finances, etc. I decided to take the plunge and invest in my career and hopefully this will Help me to um better formulate my business concept, and I'm very excited and proud that I took the leap and decided to do the certification process.

How did you do with balancing your life and the coursework?

Buffy Brown: So my question is, how did you do with balancing your life and the coursework? So to be honest, at first, I was wondering how this would all play out as I have a full-time job and a daughter that's just graduated from high school and preparing to go to college. So, I honestly, it, it has been a lot easier than I anticipated. I have a lot of flexibility in the evenings and on the weekends, and my pro bono clients have all been local. I put an ad on Facebook and Instagram when I was trying to solicit for my pro bono clients and they came very easily to me. And it's been an amazing experience. As I said, all of my clients have happened to be local, so I've given them the option to come to my home. Either in the evenings or on the weekends for our pro bono sessions, and I also give them option of a virtual or a phone call for follow-ups. I prefer the initial to be in person, if at all possible. But it's been a lot easier than I originally anticipated. Because people have been very flexible in in working with me due to the fact that I do have a full-time job. So it can be done. Don't let that hold you back.

What do you see in your future as a nurse life coach?

Buffy Brown: So the question is, what do you see in your future as a nurse life coach? This question really excites me as I feel like my entire life personally and career-wise has prepared me for this role as a life coach. My first degree is in business and psychology and my second degree is in nursing. So I'm very well versed and then I have a medical background, I have a psychology background, and all of, all of my life I've been very much a self-help junkie, very into, um, personal awareness, emotional intelligence. I truly feel like I was made for this role and again looking back on all of my experiences. Personally and in various different jobs have prepared me for this role, so I could not be more excited about my future as a life coach. I'm not exactly sure how it's gonna unfold as I'm wrapping up in my certification process. However, I'm so excited and open to whatever. It's supposed to happen. I'm a true believer in all things are unfolding as they're supposed to be, and I can't wait to see exactly what that entails.

How have you grown personally?

Buffy Brown: So the question is how have I grown personally? This has been a fabulous experience for me. I will have to say that my entire life I've been. A self-help junkie, so I've been working on myself since I was in my teens and I'm now in my 50s. So this comes very naturally for me. This whole process has also just been icing on the cake for me personally. It's, it's helped me to. Focus on different areas that I not necessarily have been focused on in the past. Um, so I'm, I'm very grateful to be here and to have had this experience because it, you need to be on top of your game. You need to know who you are. You need to have a great relationship with yourself to truly be able to be successful as a life coach. Because to be able to help other people. You really need to know and understand yourself. And I can honestly say that at 55 years old, I've been working on myself literally since I was 10 years old. So, this is just further and deeper development, personal development, and I'm I'm very excited and proud of myself to be here.

What would you say to a nurse considering joining Nurse Life Coach Academy?

Buffy Brown: So the question is, what would I say to a nurse considering joining nurse Life Coach Academy? Absolutely hands down, I would recommend this certification. Group, if you are considering becoming a nurse life coach. I would say also to take the leap to go for it. Um, it's, it's worth the investment in yourself. It's not. It's not too expensive and and you'll get your money back for sure. Um, I, I decided to do it. I don't want to have any regrets at end of life, and this is something that I've been wanting to do for a long time. So I thought on it and Decided that it was very much worth the investment in myself personally, uh, no matter where the future takes me with this certification process. So, I did research on various different companies that provide the uh life coach certification and I was sold on this company number one because. They're both nurses, uh, the two founders and secondly. The wealth of knowledge and experience that they have is just bar none, um, so I. I decided to go with them because I very much believed in in their product and. And their experience.
