Speaker: Taylor Fogelquist, Founder, Halftime Network

Taylor Fogelquist: I'm Taylor Fogelquist. I'm a men's coach and facilitator and serial entrepreneur.

Taylor Fogelquist: I decided to sign up for the retreat because I just really needed to get more space and drop in in my life. And that was both my personal and professional life. And so the combination of both Spencer's sort of wisdom and his ability to hold a beautiful space and container for this group. Plus the location at Green Gulch Zen Center was a perfect opportunity to slow down and really feel into what my next chapter is.

Taylor Fogelquist: The retreat was a really remarkable opportunity to slow down and, and give me space to just feel into what is next. It was a perfect balance of structured activities and group work, and also space to be inside, and go inside, and really notice what my interior was calling for. And, also just a great opportunity for walking in nature, which I consistently find, helps me slow down and drop in and really turn on with what is sort of coming up or emerging for me, both personally and professionally. So in terms of how the retreat addressed those needs and challenges, it absolutely, absolutely 100% helped me get ready for the next thing.

Taylor Fogelquist: If you're watching this, you're probably considering coming on a retreat with Spencer. And I would say no matter what the challenge or focus of your life right now, there's space in this retreat for you. A lot of retreats are quite structured and I have found them to be very linear in terms of the journey from where I was to where I'm expected to be. The expansive nature of this particular approach, of Spencer's unique approach to holding space for professionals, really created a universal as in everyone in the group had a breakthrough or had something shift profoundly for them. So from that standpoint, I am a firm believer that this is a useful and important gathering.

Taylor Fogelquist: Since the retreat, I've noticed just more spaciousness, more taking a breath before immediately jumping to the next act action or recognizing a thought that might not be particularly helpful. I can take a breath and just sort of notice the, the space between me and the thought and actually be much more balanced and thoughtful, and heartfelt about where I apply my energy. My relationships again, both professional and personal, have benefited directly from my time at the Zen Center and I've really been in contact with a few of the attendees and thoroughly enjoyed where those conversations have gone. So it's been a really beautiful gift to me personally and professionally.
