Speaker: Samantha Lanning, Garland ISD

Samantha Lanning: Hey, my name is Sam Lanning from Garland ISD, and I just want to take a minute to say thank you to my amazing principal, Rosalyn Betz, for my nomination for the Holdsworth retreat. I've been learning how to actually take care of myself. Apparently, sleep and vegetables are important. Who knew? I also made some amazing new friends, eating way too much good food, and of course, spent an embarrassing amount of time petting every single animal at the Tiny Tail snuggle therapy twice. The nomination means so much to me because I'm always pouring into others and pushing myself without ever slowing down. I mean, staying nights and at the school and constantly working my butt off, so this experience has made me finally stop and give myself the same care that I give everyone else, and it's exactly what I needed. I feel so refreshed, so grateful, and just happy. Thank you for believing in me and for giving me this experience. It's been absolutely unforgettable, and there's not enough words to say thank you.
