Speaker: Melanie Maspero, Director, District Support & Programs, The Holdsworth Center
What is your favorite thing about working at Holdsworth?
Melanie Maspero: I have several favorite things about working at Holdsworth. I think one of them is the mission and the impact. You know, there's that statement that people won't always remember what you say, but they will remember how they felt in your presence. And I've been here seven years and it doesn't matter whether it's a principal, a superintendent, even a parent or a board member who knows that Holdsworth has been a part of their school district. They all say the same thing that it, it, it woke a change in them, the people that were able to partner with us and that it set off this chain reaction of change that really gives me the energy, um, and the passion to wake up every morning and get on planes and drive hours and hours to see and serve districts. So that's my first favorite thing. I think my second favorite thing is that we, when this organization was founded, we really had this idea of being a learning organization. And at the time when I heard that word, I wasn't quite sure what that meant. But I think I've seen evidence of what, of how it can look. So one of those things we do I think is just learn from piloting, testing things out. But another clear thing that I've been able to do since I've been here is get 1.5 degrees. So I've got my masters in counseling since I've been here. I'm now working on my doctorate in organizational change. And so I really appreciate how this role, this organization not only says that that's how we want to be as a group, but as individuals, we support one another when they want to, you know, extend their education and continue to pursue change and growth. So that's what I love about working at Holdsworth.
