Emily Donnelly, CPCU, AIDA, ARM: So being a member of the Society has opened up to me a network of individuals that I don't know how I would have connected with otherwise. Since joining the Society, I've been brave enough to kind of step out of my comfort zone, and by doing so, I feel like I've now had the opportunity to help others do the same. The insurance industry I feel like tends to be looked at as sales, risk, customer service. But there is so much more we have so so much potential to be great leaders and you know, those smart skills that we need to truly succeed. By becoming a member of the Society, I have been able to join those two passions and try to really help others find those connections too.

Emily Donnelly, CPCU, AIDA, ARM: How hasn't it? Being part of the Society has impacted me in so many ways and probably in ways I haven't even realized yet. When I was working towards my designation in 2018, I was an individual contributor in our contacts and our personal lines department. Upon earning my designation maybe a month later, I was approached by our leadership team and asked if I wanted to be a supervisor. From there I had the opportunity to hone my leadership skills. I became the Secretary of our Central New Jersey Chapter and then I took a little pivot in my career and ended up in the talent development department of our human resources team. From there I'm now our Central New Jersey Chapter president. I went to the Leadership Summit. I was an active participant on the board. The Society is so much of, you know, you're going to get out what you put in, and now leading our talent, excuse me, our management development program, I doubt my career trajectory would have been the same had it not been for the Society and for my involvement, and you know, the individuals that I've met while being a part of the Society.
