What would you like to say to your CFO?
Tim McNally: First of all, I'd like to say a huge thank you to Adrian Jones. Over the last three years, Adrian has helped us successfully navigate through what has been without question, the most turbulent times we've experienced during our 18 years in business.
What problems were you facing before you started working with us?
Tim McNally: The dilemma we were faced with as a business was that we were too large to rely on a small team of accounts administrators, not large enough to employ an FD. We were aware that we needed the latter if our ambitious growth plans would come to fruition, and that's where Adrian was able to help through bringing his years of experience into our business.
What have been the benefits to your business specifically?
Tim McNally: Specifically, Adrian was able to take a much more objective view of our business than we were able to do ourselves. First thing he recommended after delving into our financials was that we needed a qualified management accountant. We did this and as a result, have a much better handle on cash flow budgets and much better management information. This, in turn, has allowed us to make much more calculated decisions instead of finger in the air ones.
What have the benefits been to you personally?
Tim McNally: For me personally, Adrian has relieved a big chunk of the weight of responsibility for the financial performance of the business, and brings more balance to our director meetings. Whilst financial performance still falls firmly on my shoulders, I now feel I have the support, tools and staff to predict what is around the corner and make decisions accordingly. The only regret is that I didn't find Adrian earlier.
What are you hoping to achieve over the coming 12-24 months, with the support of Adrian?
Tim McNally: With Adrian's support, the next two years are incredibly exciting for us, with big plans to grow and take advantage of our strong financial position that Adrian has helped us to achieve. With what has happened over the last couple of years due to the pandemic, we feel we're in a much stronger position than many of our competitors, and this is largely due to the decisions made where Adrian has been critical in those decision making processes.
