Advancing Your Sales Career at ACBJ

William Martinez: Working at The Business Journals just gives you this insane amount of access. And I think that the greatest gift that, you know, ACBJ has given me in, you know, advancing my professional development has really been just opening doors when, when you put that bizjournals, you know, title behind your email and you're able to, to open with, I work for ACBJ or I work for Albuquerque Business First or wherever you may be across the nation, It just opens so many doors. And I think that that's, an amazing thing that we have and our reputation goes a long way. I always tell people that there were places at the beginning of my career where I don't think or I didn't think at that time that I had earned a seat at the table, but ACBJ granted me that seat and it allowed my voice to be heard in rooms that it needed to be heard. And, I think that it's been a really incredible journey for me to start in a local market, go to corporate and be able to advance myself internally and then to come back and bring those amazing gifts back to, you know, Albuquerque and finding a way to, to basically just continue to stack on these amazing, you know, relationships and my professional development as a whole, I think I've just been super blessed to have a strong base of people around me who have lifted me up. So I can't really think of a better place to, to begin a career or to end a career because I think that The Business Journals just are that their definition of of a place where you can grow in a place where you can become, you know, something really special within your community.

Courtney Bode: So, in my time with American City Business Journals, I have had five different roles for three different markets. So I've definitely advanced my career from the start and there's no way that I would be where I am today if I didn't have great mentors and champions within the company that have helped, you know, advocate for me and have helped train me to where I am. It's not often that you get a big company where you have access to many different people at many different levels and if you network and make relationships with some of these people, you know, they'll cheerlead for you and champion you all throughout their all throughout your career because they want to see you be successful.
