Speaker: Megan Murnyak, Account Executive, Chicago
Could you please share your #1 tip for sales success or a piece of advice that you believe would be most valuable for other ACBJ sellers ?
Megan Murnyak: Hi, my name is Megan Murnyak, and I work at the Chicago Business Journal, and I've been with the company for about 2.5 years now, and I'm thrilled to be part of the Chairman's Club. It was super cool and a big honor. Yeah, I was asked what my number one tip for sales success or a bit of advice, that I, that I would have for other executives at ACBJ. I actually have a few. One of them is. pretty basic. It's, you know, continue to feed the funnel. It's as simple as that, just keep. finding new business, even if it doesn't look like it's gonna be the biggest win. I actually learned a lot every time I follow up with somebody and learn about their business and learn about the things that they, that company is doing, and I start to learn stories that I can share with other clients as they're, you know, having similar struggles or similar goals or similar, issues. So, just keep feeding the funnel cause as it gets down there, good stuff happens and my other piece of advice is to be a good split partner. I have a lot of business that requires a lot of export business and it makes 1000 times difference when you have a good split partner. And I wish I could name the ones that I have walked with me on a couple of big accounts and I am forever in their debt because the world is changing and you know, companies and agencies and working from home and all those sorts of things has really changed a lot of the way that we split business and so I'm very grateful for the people who are good split partners and I try to be a good split partner as well. And sometimes that means that I'm doing a lot of the work on the account or sometimes it means that I'm not doing as much, but I always try to help and say, hey, can I help with invoicing or can I do the one, can I, do you want me to be the one in charge of creative or how can I be helpful, and just be a good split partner. I think that that's something that's really important, in our business today. And lastly, my piece of advice is to be a part of your team, and I've had the good fortune of rolling up and I now report to and I'm included with the Milwaukee Business Journal and that team has opened their arms and has embraced me. I go to their sales meetings. I go to their events. I try to be an asset to that team and it's there where we find friends and associates laughs and it makes it makes a big difference, especially if you're a party of one in in the Chicago office, so I have to big, big, big shout out to my team, the Milwaukee Business Journal, I love you guys. You bring out the best of me and hopefully, I bring out the, I hope I bring something good to the table for you guys as well. thank you very much for the honor of being a chairman, recipient. It is super exciting and I'm really excited to get my, my statues. So, thank you.
