Speaker: Kitty Meddows, Account Executive, Kansas City
Could you please share your #1 tip for sales success or a piece of advice that you believe would be most valuable for other ACBJ sellers ?
Kitty Meddows: Hi, I'm Kitty Meddows in Kansas City, and I had trouble thinking of what is my secret to success. So I literally asked my colleague, Barbara, why, why do you think I'm successful? And made her compliment me. So, here you go. Relationships is my biggest secret sauce. So building relationships, building trust quickly. And I do that through just being myself. Like, I'm a huge dork and I'm totally real and silly with people because that's me. So just being your authentic self sounds cheesy, but it really does go a long way. And, you know, I get quickly to the point where I'll just, I'll have people's cell and I'll just text a president of a company, whatever, even if I haven't known them that long, and be like, hey, what do you think about this? And don't you want to do this? And just being talking to them like a friend, building, you know, networking that's not just transactional, but building relationships that last with leaders. And then, definitely, you know, using our business journal resources is another one, as far as use your SDDs, reach out to them for help, use the AMM team, reach out to them for proposals, all the different resources that The Business Journals gives us, it's there to help us succeed and the other one that Barbara pointed out, that I'm definitely not afraid to ask for the sale, so just I mean. Don't attach your own emotions to yes or no. That's why I'm not afraid to ask for the sale because I don't care if they say no, for two reasons. One, they're not saying no to me, they're saying no to whatever opportunity and maybe because they don't understand it, maybe timing is not right, whatever. And the other thing is, I have enough irons in the fire that one no is not gonna make or break me. So, there you go, there you have it. Those are my secrets to success. Thanks.
