Speaker: Carolyn Leach
Please share a bit about your personal and professional journey, highlighting experiences that have shaped who you are, beyond your resume.
Carolyn Leach: My name is Carrie Leach. I currently work as the lead sales associate at Club Pilates in North Handover. Um I have been there since January and before I was there, I was at media hub as a buyer from July of 2022 to July of 2023. I worked on the Chipotle Hallmark and Post Serials accounts, handling all of their buying their billing. Um and any other campaigns that they were interested in doing. Uh before I was a buyer, I was an assistant buyer. I was still working on Chipotle and Hallmark, but instead of post cereals, I had Royal Caribbean. Um So I was also doing their buying and their billing and before I was at media hub pre COVID, I was with wave maker in New York working on the Paramount Studios account. Um when I am not working, I enjoy doing a bunch of things. Um but something that I really enjoy is biking. Um I have been a pan mass challenge participant for the past two summers. So I have spent, you know, most of my spring and summer preparing for the 162 mile ride from Mosley to Provincetown and this year I will also be participating in winter cycle. Um So when I am not working or fundraising or doing anything for the Pan Mass Challenge, I am probably indulging in my guilty pleasure, which is the Real Housewives of any franchise on Bravo. And that is pretty much all about me.
Why the Boston Business Journal? (What do you know about the BBJ?)
Carolyn Leach: So I think that the Boston Business Journal uh, is an amazing place when I first moved to Boston in 2020 while I had spent all of my childhood summers and Christmases here visiting family. Um I really didn't know too much outside of the small town that my family lived in. Um, and so kind of being able to explore different avenues and being able to read articles that were interesting, you know, under sections. Um, and getting to know the State of Massachusetts a little bit better was something that was really helpful. Um And something that I really think is great about the Boston Business Journal is the support of local small businesses, um, especially post COVID. Being able to support those businesses and connect, you know, viewers or advertisers with, um, these businesses to bring in people is a great thing. So I think that is what I really enjoy about the Boston Business Journal.
What are you looking for from your next role?
Carolyn Leach: In my next room. I'm looking to be challenged. Um I really enjoyed being in the media space agency side. Um But something that I kind of grew tired of was that it was very same day to day, um especially being at an agency, I was very much siloed into the TV portion. Um So I wasn't able to experience other avenues and step outside of my comfort zone. Um So that is something that I really wanted in my next role and also working in sales at Club Pilates. Um Sales is something I've never done and I've really enjoyed. So I kind of wanted to combine that aspect with the media aspect that I did know and love for so long. Um And that is really what led me to apply for this role. It seems like the perfect combination and also my love for the city of Boston. So it just kind of combined all three of my favorite things. Um And then also I'm looking in my next role just to be in a place where I can see growth and where I can learn from other people. Um That is really what's most important to me is being able to work with a team and learn from other people's experiences and use my experiences to maybe help them. Um So that's what I'm looking for the most.
